A view from Southwold Pier south to the Sizewell nuclear power station (Suffolk). The groynes and sea wall protect the beach, the beach huts - and, indeed, the town - from the waves (most of the time). The sea defenses highlight the dangers to the town posed by the the wind and sea. But the Sizewell nuclear power station sits menacingly on the horizon.
