The streets of Lanzhou (Gansu) are typically shabby, colourful, and full of life. The architecture is rather usual for the Communist era. People use streets like this as outdoor living and working places: for relaxing, playing with their children, sewing, and preparing, selling and eating food - in spite of the scary looking cables everywhere.
