This photo was taken from the Issyk Kul lake basin (Kyrgyzstan), on the road between Karakol and Barskoon. The snow-capped Tien Shan mountains (Terskoy Alatau range) are in the background. An agricultural complex, probably an old Soviet collectivised farm, is located just in front of the foothills.
