The children are feeding house sparrows (Passer domesticus) in front of Notre-Dame Cathedral (Place du Parvis-Notre-Dame). The visitors around them are mesmerised by the birds hovering near the children's hands. The children are delighted by their contact with the natural world. The House Sparrows are taking advantage of a free meal.
