View of Stonehenge taken in 1980. The megalithic stone circle was constructed over the period from around 3000 to 1600 BC; from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age. Free access to the stones was restricted in 1977, presumably at least partly as a result of the graffiti visible on the stones.
